Jon and Suzy's birthday 2015

How is this little cutie already 4?!  She is so graceful and sweet.  This year, she got a water baby and I had so much fun sewing it diapers, doll clothes, and a doll quilt.  She loves it.

I still remember what a peaceful, sweet baby she was:

Jon turned 30 this year and I'm having a way harder time with it than he is.  Leaving our 20's is kinda scary for me, I'm not sure why.  Sigh - and our kids are growing up.

But on the plus side of turning 30, Jon got some super fun presents this year.  His parents gave him a Knex set.  He and the kids set it up together - he's so good at involving them in the building of it, and David loves that it goes by itself.  My parents gave him a remote control helicopter, here's a video of the kids giggling while Jon flies it:

And I gave him some nerf guns for Christmas.  Those two together are way fun.  Here's a video re-cap of Dec 26, 2015.

And a cute video of David's stutter.  He's stuttering less and less and using more full sentences, so I'm glad I caught this on tape.

Christmas Eve PJs!

Opening PJs

Christmas morning.  This year, we watched the 1966 version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas while we ate breakfast, then we opened presents.  It was fun!

I kept wanting to let the girls sleep under the tree, but they're too little to actually sleep if we let them go in the living room.  So, since we had a small tree, I just carried it into their room for one night.

Decorating cookies and having hot chocolate at the Tyler family party - so nice to live just 3 minutes away!

Suzy was the only one who would pose for a picture.

This is what happens when 4 year olds decorate cookies.

And this picture is so nostalgic...Dad with a black garbage bag cleaning up all the wrapping paper.

Since when are most of my siblings adults?

We had a visit last week from my oldest brother, Jon - it was so much fun to be together.  (And my Jon and David have the same fake smile in this picture...nice).

And here's a couple cute videos:

Christmas Lights

Well, we had to wait in a long line to see these Christmas lights from our car.

But we made good use of the wait - singing and drinking hot chocolate

Here's a couple other fun videos:

There is something I've been trying to learn for myself (and wanting to learn so I'll pass it onto my kids).  Its this:  We so often label ourselves as "good" or "bad" based on our behavior.  But that's not true - we are good people who sometimes make a bad choice.

As I'm learning that, and realizing that its true for my kids as well - its so freeing.  Just something I've been thinking about....

Impromptu Nativity Re-enactment

We were at my parents house, helping them put in Christmas decorations.  The girls found all the costumes for the nativity and had so much fun being the angles (and roping their aunts and uncles into doing the nativity with them).

Also, video night at the Hansen's!  So fun.

And the girls play with our nativity sets all the time.  Luckily, we have two.
