So, the girls and I decided last minute to come with Jon to his conference in Colorado. I'm loving it! The 8.5 hour car trip turned into 11.5 with two little girls but it was worth it. And...two porta cribs fit nicely in here - one in the bathroom and one in the little closet space. Anyway, thats not what I wanted to think about. Its this: I'm just starting to read this talk and this stood out to me.
"Happiness does not come by
pressing a button, as does the electric light; happiness is a state of mind and
comes from within. It must be earned. It cannot be purchased with money; it
cannot be taken for nothing."
Whoa...I kept reading and realized that this is where they "any two people can get married" talk that I heard misquoted and taken out of context so many times in my dating years. It makes so much more sense the way he actually says it and in the context of the talk (especially after reading the introduction where he talks a lot about being careful with the decision of who you marry).
